1 January 2023:
Before starting happy new year to everyone as that’s my first blog of this year😅
That’s true said while travelling more than destination it’s journey and experience.
No wonder why coorg also called as Kodalu is called as a piece of heaven popularly known for coffe plantation and homemade chocolates and people who live in nearby places like Bengaluru with full of crowd , coorg is must visit.
Enjoy some glimpse..
🌅
That’s what made your day when u enter Coorg❤️
❤️❤️
Before starting with planing and plotting (😅) let’s come to the good part..
BEST TIME TO TRAVEL-
So last year 24 December 2022 we went to coorg( though not that last but still last), I know that’s confusing anyway so we went at 3 o’clock in morning though that’s not the good choice so whosoever is planning try to leave at evening in a way to reach the place at least at night and then can take proper sleep at night and get boost up to wander around next day.
HOW TO TRAVEL-
If you have your own vehicle well and good otherwise if you may rent cabs from Sawari app or any Ola and Uber to schedule your ride.
ACCOMADATION-
Accommodation is something which you must plan before some days or weeks to avoid last minute unavailability of hotels or home stays as mostly people used to go during weekend times and of-course everybody is going to have weekend plans so better to have accommodation preplanned.
WHERE TO STAY –
Stay depends upon the list of places you want to travel so make sure to prepare your bucket list and get your accommodation nearby those places but in coorg most of the tourist spot comes near medikeri so try to stay nearby only.

Tried to capture sunset..
Whichever place u go in south India this is must ..
MY EXPERIENCE-
Travel is all about experiences , experiences of the places u go and people u met and same for me.
The most interesting part of this trip is our cab driver named Vishwanath or instead our guider.
It was fun listening to his stories in our entire trip and u didn’t even realise when destination reached.he has so much of different experience and lessons that was great to hear and the most inspiring part was when he told about his covid experience.
We heard about a lot of heroes in covid who during critical time went out for critical services without fear and he was one of them indeed.
So in covid time mostly the people related to travel industry suffered a lot so his daily work impacted a lot and he switched to zomato services .
He said that initially I was afraid but later on I realised stay inside and live constantly in fear that something will happen I choosed to come in battle field and face the reality as it’s a great said “the one who got scared died” .
How he provided food to needy people and be the first point of contact for someone who need help.
Being a cab driver he get to meet a lot of people that autmatically brings lot of experience .
He almost met every kind of people from extreme to calm.he shared a lot of stories about a people from different places, and how now a days no one has time to sit together with their loved ones and how money become the utmost priority though it’s important but dominated over everything.
It’s a high time to look over these thing and see where we are heading though it’s right that money can’t bring happpiness but then can make your life little easier but having a balance is the crucial part and that’s what he conclude from his experiences of meeting people.
Travelling is all about meeting new people and that what i have got from this trip.He almost talked in entire trip either about his experiences and the things that he feel is not going right, the one thing which he talked about is to spare time for your loved ones and never let your success come over your relation be it your family , your friends or someone else(that u know😅).
PLACES THAT WE VISITED-
Firstly always try to spend some days if you are going anywhere otherwise it will also be just another task assigned to you which you want to complete and you are not going to enjoy anything even if you are going for 2 or 3 days or u don’t have much time , then don’t know about others but i personally try to visit few places and stay more there because that’s the whole fun and if you are going to hilly areas then its all about peace and calm which needs you to stay there for a while.
What else you need with tea and pakode (if not diet conscious) with sunrise and sunset right in front of you and full hill vibes(funny know). But that all you need to feel the vibe of hilly area.
We went for 2 days so did not have much time to have a proper planning which definitely fails even if we would have planned it for months but went to places like-
MEDIKERI-
So most of the places are nearby to medikeri and also you would get a home stay or hotel to stay around there.
But have your booking preplanned otherwise you would not get any rooms available at last moment which ofcourse happens with us (result of last minute booking).
DUBARE ELEPHANT CAMP-
So our experiences going to give you a lot of learning as we have seen all the failure in this trip(lol)
We went to elephant camp and there are some timing so before going anywhere must see the timing otherwise you would also be getting a great learning , so we went and there is one river which u need to cross to get entry in camp for which they boat fascility but because its always crowded and long queue that sometimes you wont be able to make up.
Because the queue was so long sometimes people used to cross that river by their own and its not that deep but can be dangerous at moments when the flow is high but even that people would go , so to avoid this risk try to come early and go by boat , this way you would able to at least get entry.
That’s a dam nearby to elephant camp..
RAJA’s SEAT-
Raja’s seat is yet another famous tourist attraction in medikeri coorg known for its ultimate view.
This is a said that Raja’s of Kodagu(coorg) used to come here for recreation activities and to spend time. And indeed its a beautiful garden with a beautiful view of medikeri which you cannot forget.
Second special fact about Raja’s seat is located in Gandhi mantap.
Every year on 30th January on the day of gandhiji’s assassination , sarvodaya diwas has been celebrated in coorg .
In 1948 on day of this assassination procession is conducted in which a urn containing Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes are carried to the Raja’s seat.
You will see lot of stalls selling various stuffs like honey there .
Enjoy this ultimate view from this place-
MANDALPATTI PEAK-
Now that’s something adventure though the peak is heaving indeed a ultimate view but more than that the journey to that peak.
So from entry point u need to get an safari if you are having good number of people in group then wel and good if not much you can collaborate with someone who is also visiting .
Journey from starting point to peak is little adventurous at least for me but you already are used to with roller coaster rides especially in mud path then that’s normal for you .
And no comparison of the beauty of that peak its complete different world nothing around no home nothing like you are in different world and view is epic.
ABBEY FALLS-
That’s a beautiful fall that you can add in your bucket list while going to coorg and it wont take much time but should if you are visiting coorg.
Not able to take this properly as it’s covered ..
Must bought this Famous homemade chocolate of Coorg then only your trip is validated😅
Hope you liked this short trip of mine and do comment if you have visited Coorg and have some stories to share..
Till then be healthy that’s all❤️❤️
